The one-line command asks its questions as it goes. To give the answers as options instead, run the installer from the package yourself.

Run the installer from the package

  1. Download PowerShell installer package (Xackup-Desktop-win-x86.zip) from the Downloads page and unzip it.
  2. Open PowerShell as Administrator in the unzipped folder.
  3. Run:
.\Install-XackupDesktop.ps1

If PowerShell says running scripts is disabled, run it for this one time with the policy bypassed:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Install-XackupDesktop.ps1

Options

Option Effect
-LocalOnly The service listens on this computer only. -LocalOnly:$false lets other computers connect.
-NoFirewall Do not touch the Windows firewall.
-AllowPublicNetworks Also open the port on networks Windows treats as Public.
-SkipPrerequisites Do not check for or install .NET, ASP.NET Core and WebView2. For computers without internet that already have them.

-NoBackup Do not zip the data folder before upgrading. See Upgrade.
-Unattended Ask nothing. Use the options given and what is already set.

.\Install-XackupDesktop.ps1 -Unattended -LocalOnly:$false -NoDesktopShortcut
